UK pal, Lunar Cycles /ロンドン友達・ルナーサイクルズ

昨年、怒濤のユーロバイクショーでの、リンプロジェクト展示。
Last year, "Sturm und Drang" Rin Project exhibiting.





ちいさなブースに、たくさんの人が訪れてくれました。
多くは「今すぐここで売ってくれ」というお話でしたが、
いろんな話があって、中にはビジネスの話もあって。
Tons of people dropped by our tiny booth.
Many of the talking we did was
"Can I buy this right here right now?"
Although, there were some tiny business talking.





小さな入り口だったので、
あまりブースの中に人は入ってこなかったのですが、
ふと気がつくと中にいて、ボクらの写真と製品をじっと見ている
大きな男がいました。
As for tiny entrance,
not many people came in the booth,
but one tall guy, I did not realize he was by me,
was checking our products and photos.



それが、このサム。
彼は、イギリス・ロンドンで『ルナー・サイクルズ』という
自転車ショップを開いています。ちなみにルナーサイクルとは、
英語で月の満ち欠けサイクルのこと。 ルナティック・サイクル。
That is this Sam. He runs a bicycle shop called
"Lunar Cycles" in London, UK. For reference, lunar cycle
means wax and wane of the moon. The lunatic cycle.



ルナーサイクルズでは、
よく知られていたり、アンダーグラウンドだったりという
ブランドの自転車は、売ってません。
At Lunar Cycles, there is no bicycles such as
well known, or underground brands.



サムは、人がロンドンという町で自転車と暮らしていくのに
最低限必要で、最大限スマートな自転車を作り、修理し、売っています。
Sam makes, repairs, and sells the bicycles which will be
needed in a city called London.




もともとは、捨てられそうな自転車を拾ってきて、
ピカピカにレストアして、売っていたのですが、
最近では、そんな中古自転車がなくなってきたそうです。
で、工房にお願いして、オリジナルのフレームを作ってもらってるそうです。
そのため、サムがした最初の質問は
「日本の、いいビルダー、知らない？」
Basically Sam saved bicycles which were about to be thrown away,
then restored them brightly and sold them.
But recently, there is not many good old bicycles,
so he decided to make original frames with frame builders.
As for that, his first question was
" Do you know any good Japanese frame builder? "


小さなルナーサイクルズの中に
私たちリンプロジェクトの製品も、置いてくれています。
東京と同じく、やはりカスクから売れていくようです。
In this tiny Lunar Cycles,
our Rin Project things are taking some of the space.
The Casques is the first thing to be sold, just as Tokyo.
